The SVKT for 2008 will have an Elite athlete category as the first wave of the event.  The distance for this wave will be the same as our 13 to 15 age group, that is:

• Swim: 200 yards
• Bike: 6 miles
• Run: 1-1/4 miles 

This wave will be limited to 20 athletes.

The Elite Wave will be open to all ages and genders but to apply for Elite status, you must meet the following requirements:

1. You must have participated in at least three (3) prior youth triathlons, one of which is the Silicon Valley Kids Triathlon.  Your past history is important in establishing you as an Elite athlete.
2. You must give us your estimated time to complete the Elite course.

You register in the normal manner online or by mail.  Be sure to check the Elite box and pay the additional $10 fee. We will get a list of Elite applicants and will contact you by e-mail and ask for your prior youth triathlon experience and your estimated time.  Based on the information received, we will determine who qualifies for the Elite Wave.  All applicants will be notified of their status by e-mail no later than May 15th, and we will return the $10 surcharge to those who were not selected.  Those not making the Elite Wave will be entered into their normal age-group.

This is the first time for this Elite Wave so we reserve the right to make adjustments to the criteria.  Check this web page and the "Latest News" section of the Kids Tri website for developments.

This will be a fun, interesting way of kicking off the 2008 SV Kids Triathlon.
